Jesse Anthony

Only 22, Jesse Anthony’s resume reads more like that of a seasoned pro. He counts seven national cyclocross titles in a career that spans 10 years.

One of seven children (the third oldest, he has two sisters and four brothers), Anthony quickly made a name for himself in cyclocross, a cycling discipline that combines road cycling and mountain biking with a touch of steeplechase. His extraordinary bike handling skills in cyclocross often come in handy on the road circuit, particularly in criteriums.

In 2006, Anthony turned professional and became the revelation of the Ford Tour de Georgia, finishing in the top 20 during four of six stages while earning the GE Best Young Rider jersey after the first two stages.

Last season saw him win Stage 7 of the Tour of Virginia and finish second at the Charlotte Presbyterian Invitational Criterium.

In 2008, he hopes to continue making a name for himself on the road circuit.
