daveThird Year:
Dave Eldridge, Birmingham, AL

2008 Dave is running crew and logistics for Team Type 1 2008 RAAM. Son, Joe, is co-founder of Team Type 1. He lived in Birmingham, AL with first wife. Joe was diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of 10. Third year volunteer for Team Type 1 and RAAM. Known for his strong encouragement and bull horn which was frequently heard by the riders from 1 A.M to 6 A.M. Affectionately known as Big Dave.

Joanna Southerland , Tallahassee FL, Janet Dupuy Boston, MA

Joanna is mother of Phil Southerland, founder of Team Type 1, diagnosed at 7 months of age. This is her third year for RAAM as web developer and media car. She member of "Mom Squad." Also manages Graduate Programs, College of Business, Florida State University, teaches group fitness and is committed to exercise. Janet Dupuy Web volunteer for Team Type 1 for many years, web maven, blogger and expert anime artist, is committeed to cartoons and exercise. Joanna and Janet have worked on web projects for several years.

Coached the winning RAAM teams for the past two years. CEO, Endurance Training Network Director, Fort Lewis College Cycling Executive Director, CorpStrength Inc.

Carl Chesire, Tallahassee & Orlando, FL

Carl Cheshire currently of Orlando, FL is excited to be part of this 2008 RAAM team. Carl was one of the solid rock mechanics that helped the team win last year. Carl has been racing for over 15 years in mountain, bmx, downhill, and road racing. He has been a bike mechanic for 13 years. He is now head mechanic at Dave's World in Orlando, Florida.

Michael was the Team Type 1 RAAM photographer and all round do everything that others could not get to with Joanna. (Laundry, water, goo, laundry, water, goo)
He is back again in 2008 for more of the same, plus updating the blog, driving, navigating and uhhh doing laundry and drinking lots of Doubleshots!

scottFirst year:
Scott Scholl, West Hills, CA - presently living in Portland, OR

Recruited by Uncle Michael to have six days of RAAM bliss, this is Scott's first year on the Team Type 1 RAAM crew. He is a bike mechanic at Bike Gallery in Portland. He builds and rides road bikes and mountain bikes.

Mother of Morgan Patton, Team Type 1 RAAM team. This automatically makes her of "Mom Squad." Deb is in charge of marketing and publications for RAAM. Morgan has had diabetes since 7. She is now 20. Debbie is featured in some Team Type 1 videos.

Brother One (the older brother) of Monique, TT1 Rider
Works in IT sales, as well as a side business selling nuts and confectionary. Very much looking forward to the challenge of helping out the TT1 RAAM riders to win again!

brendonFirst year:
Brendan Hanley, Melbourne, Australia

Brother Two of Monique, TT1 RiderWorks in finance for a city stockbroking firm Tolhurst Ltd, loves options trading and following the markets (as well as following fav cycling team QuickStep and of course TT1). Past experience with cycling includes 6 years as a mechanic, track and minimal road stuff also. The prospect of falling back into the world of cycling is for ever tempting him to quit his job and return to my real passion!

robertFirst Year:
Robert Sprague, University of PA
Connection to the team is Andy Mead, Team Type 1 second year rider, who is a good friend.Both in school together in Philadelphia and race for the same collegiate team. Good friends with Chris Davidson, one of the mechanics -both did our master's degrees together in Austin.Currently,a doctoral candidate in neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania. Studies sensory learning and sensorimotor integration. Earned a bachelor's and master's in exercise physiology at the University of Texas at Austin. Research at U.T. was related to Type 2 diabetes. Excited to be part of the support team and looks forward to helping TT1 bring home another RAAM title.

noonanFirst year:
Joseph Noonan, Birmingham, MI & VA

Spent most of hi life working in the ski and cycling industry starting as a technician, working his way into management and opening and operating several successful stores. He and wife, Margie, are competitive equestrians and own a construction and landscaping business. Joe's family has been affected by diabetes.

daniel schniderFirst Year:
Daniel Schneider, Denver, CO

Daniel Schneider has had diabetes since the age of 12. Has degree a in health and exercise science and a masters degree in nutrition and will lend his skills to the team. Loves to bike tours, warm weather, and going fast. Teaches fitness classes and is looking for full time employment (resume). Loves the Rocky Mountains. HbA1c - 5.6.

Chris Starman, Davenport, IA
With wife Kim, has two adorable children. Works a massage therapist. Connection to diabetes is Grandmother. She had it, but he never understood it.  With the help of a few clients, and the child of a family friend. will use opportunity with Team Type 1 to further my knowledge of type 1 diabetes.Excited to be a part of such an amazing team.

Jack Cook, Wilmington, OH

Jack will be an RV driver for the race. He started cycling three years ago after having raced amateur motocross over a span of thirty years and trials for eight. He is a Boeing 767 and DC-9 maintenance controller for ABX Air, an all cargo airline that fly's freight for DHL Express.

Nate Keck, CO

Cat 2 road racer and coach for Colorado Premier Training.Three top 20 national finishes and one top 15 national finishes at the collegiate cycling level. Has degree in Exercise Science and will be working with Team Type One as a coach, navigator, and mechanic to assist them in hopefully another win for 2008!

Kyle is a full time student with no connection to diabetes, just wants to help.

Kevin is an airplane mechanic for ABX Air Inc. He  likes old cars, motorcycles and bicycles.  Looking forward to helping. Married to Christina, have two children, Kyle and Rachel.
