Daniele Callegarin-ITA, 30, raced into the top-10 at the Brixia Tour and the Tour of Turkey, but found his 2011 season cut short by a serious crash at the USAPCC in Colorado in August. With recovery well underway, he has his sights on Italian stage races and a return to the Tour de Suisse.

Daniele admires the scenery before and after bike races, astonished at the beauty of life and the wonder of civilisation - because in the powerful thrum of the competition he has no time for jibber jabber. No, not at all. Daniele is chasing attacks along a lake in Switzerland, can't see it. Daniele has a gap on the leaders down the coast into a Turkish resort town, doesn't even know it/ Daniele rides 14 times up Manayunk Wall in Philly - ok, well, let's just say he smells it. That much can't be unavoided. He's tough, he's fast, he's a mad descender and loves to fly, he's Daniele Callegarin.
