Remi Cusin won stage 2 of the Tour Denmark in 2011, capping a remarkably strong season. Following top-10s at the Volta a Catalunya and important Coupe de France races, 2012 will see him feature in Team Type 1 - Sanofi's calendar of French and European starts.
Remi put his education first, then his family, then bike racing. He won them all, with a top degree in mechanical engineering, a happy home and a top step on the podium. He took the hardest day of Denmark and put it to his own good uses, rounding off a hungry field after 189 kilometers of turns, climbs, dips and dives to bolt away in the final ten for a fight to the finish for first. And with it he let it be known that mid-race is the place to watch for Remi, where he's making a move that seems to normal, so banal, but in the end turns out to be the winner. The sharp blade, the heavy bludgeon. The last act of the executioner in a whodunnit thriller that leaves everyone thumping their heads in amazement when he crossed the line with his arms raised.
