Julien El Fares comes to Team Type 1 - SANOFI in 2011 having finished two Tours de France, one Vuelta a Espana, two Criterium du Dauphine Liberes, and two Paris Nices in his young career. He is a deeply experienced all-around rider who can contend for points classification jerseys in long stage races.


There's no mistaking the heavy mantle of a great climber. Julien wears it with pride, with honour, with distinction. He climbs up the mountains faster than his competitors because he suffers more. He endures more. He takes his breaths with greater care, places his wheels with tighter accuracy, all against a rushing field, all in time with the beating of his heart. He finishes the summit and heads back down to do it again, to make the race harder the next time, to bring more victories.
