Aleksandr Serebryakov won two stages at the Five Rings of Moscow stage race in 2011, and scored Top-10 finishes in Italy. He is a young, powerful sprinter with solid European calendar experience.
Sasha goes by his bulky Russian nickname just to trick the peloton into thinking he's not there, like a ghost in the attic, haunting when least expected. But he tames the hills that would take out other men his size, and he holds on to the end of the race and then he sprints for victory like the fast finisher he was born to be. His Italian amateur career stretched well into his 20s, and through the good graces of his natural talent he won in surprising style each year he raced. Now up in the elite peloton, he will make his mark known every time he lines up at the start, with powerful moves into the winning breaks and clever conservation of his sprint until the moment of victory.
