Peninah Benjamin grew up in Largo, Florida and graduated from Shorecrest Preparatory School. Peninah is graduating from Dartmouth College in June 2020. At Dartmouth, Peninah was on the Varsity Sailing Team for two years and the Triathlon team for two years. She was a a Developmental Economics modified with Human Centered Design major and Spanish minor. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of seven, Peninah has always been passionate about health, raising awareness for diabetes, and helping others. She spent five summers setting up diabetes camps for children and adults in the Dominican Republic with AYUDA (American Youth Understanding Diabetes Abroad) and was the Dartmouth Fellow at Close Concerns, a diabetes research publication company for three months. After graduation she will be working in Boston at Putnam Associates, a healthcare consulting firm, and hopes to combine her love of health and design.
